Welcome! I am Gizem Woods, a professional with over seven years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, where I have focused on risk analysis, group operations, and strategic projects in Switzerland and internationally.
Alongside my industry career, I have pursued my passion for environmental research and policy. My MSc dissertation at the London School of Economics centered on climate economics and willingness-to-pay modeling, reflecting my long-standing interest in the intersection of finance, risk, and sustainability.

    • AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE BOATMEN’S VALUATION FOR THE TURTLE CONSERVATION IN DALYAN, TURKEY

      I conducted my MSc dissertation on the economic valuation of sea turtle conservation in Dalyan, Turkey, where I designed and implemented a contingent valuation survey among local boatmen. The study highlighted how economic incentives shape conservation behavior, providing policy-relevant insights into aligning biodiversity protection with local livelihoods.
    • Purple Emperor Butterfly Biodiversity Project (Volunteering)

      On July 10, 2025, in Opfikon, Zurich, I joined my colleagues in a one-day volunteering activity to support the Purple Emperor Butterfly biodiversity project. Together, we helped create suitable habitats for mating and for larvae development, contributing to local conservation efforts and promoting ecological awareness.
